Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia casinos that reside just over the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall betting is not legal. Eight gambling halls are situated in a relatively tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a prime location, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are allegedly needed to cross, there are methods around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.
The original Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked boat gambling den, features 150 slot machine games and 60 table games. The Naga river boat is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational vacation and hotel compound that highlights numerous luxuries aside from the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and 88 tables.
