Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia casinos that reside just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling hall gaming is not permitted. Eight casinos are based in a generally tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent area, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a few restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; although, financing sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are for all intents and purposes required to pass, there are methods around this, as is true of most border crossings.
The initial Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary bateau gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of 21, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are 150 one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and sixty six of the normal table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international vacation and hotel complex that features many amenities aside from the gambling hall, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and eighty eight tables.
